The "RL Garage Design Awards" is a new annual event we're launching that recognizes the best and most innovative car designs in the Rocket League community. With the stream of new content showing no signs of slowing down, and the ever-expanding lineup of cars, it seemed fitting to revisit and rev up this list with more of Rocket League's best vehicles.Rocket League is a game that not only tests the players' skills on the field, but also their creativity in customizing their cars. ![]() The recent fourth season release brings some tweaks and gameplay options to competitive tourneys like the basketball-esque "Hoops." Psyonix dresses this up with a Wild West theme a cool new car, "The Outlaw," to complete the getup. These cars include the iconic Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters, Knight Rider's KITT, and unlockables themed off Stranger Things. ![]() Psyonix continues to crank out new events, along with awesome new vehicles and other goodies. Updated Augby Stephen LaGioia: After several years, this fun vehicular soccer romp continues blasting into high gear. Still, there are a number of vehicles that, overall, prove better choices to maximize your game. In short, there's not exactly a "one size fits all," and different cars will be preferable depending on your style and the type of game you like to play. With all the nuances involved in this chaotic multiplayer game, and so many cars to choose from, it can be tough to pick the best one for you. While Psyonix has tweaked and balanced many of the stats of these vehicles to make them more equal, you've still got slight variations that provide different strengths and weaknesses. Yet, the game does offer many different cars that allow you to show off your personality-while complementing your skillset and giving a slight advantage in some areas. When it comes to the fun multiplayer sensation that is Rocket League, skill and teamwork reign supreme. ![]()

Brownie chocolate chip cookie bars9/18/2023 ![]() ![]() Goodbye beautiful Oreo…Ĭover them completely and smooth out the top! When the batter is ready, pour it over the cookie dough and Oreos. Kevin and Amanda recommend adding a 1/4 cup hot fudge topping to boxed brownie mix to give in an extra chocolate boost! Since I was already using Triple Chocolate Brownies, I left it out of this batch. I am a “Ghirardelli Girl” and used their Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix for this batch. ![]() Now, whip up a batch of your favorite box brownie mix. I used Double Stuff Heads or Tails Oreos. Layer Oreo cookies on top of the cookie dough. Spread the cookie dough in the bottom of an 8×8 pan, that’s lined with wax paper and sprayed with cooking spray. ![]() Don’t forget “quality control” and take a chip for yourself! Mmm… chocolate! When it’s all combined, toss in the chocolate pieces. Not to be defeated, I made another batch! THIS version came out even better than the first and not just because it didn’t end up on the floor! I cut the recipe in half and modified it for my chocolate-loving self… err. At least that’s the story I’m going with… it couldn’t possibly be because I’m a bit of a clutz. How is THAT for an Imperfect Kitchen? :-) I think my floor tiles were hungry and convinced gravity it should pull the pan off the counter and land face down on the floor. I couldn’t wait to get started! If you follow my posts on Facebook, you know I made these bars and they ended up on the floor. I happened upon Kevin & Amanda’s blog, where they have incredible pictures (and a recipe of course) of their Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie n’ Oreo Fudge Brownie Bars. The internet is a wild and wonderful place to entertain your secret (not really secret) chocolate fantasies! I was online searching for bowling snack recipes. ![]()

Review oxo avocado slicer9/18/2023 ![]() ![]() Whenever we have dinner guests over and they see me using OXO's Avocado Slicer, they inevitably ask me where I got it and end up with one of their own. With this tool, making guacamole is easy: I can open, pit, slice, and smash the avocado safely and easily in a few minutes before adding in tomato, onion, olive oil, and seasoning. The tool also has a grippy, rubbery exterior that's easy to hold and does not slip out of your hands. When you whack it on the avocado's pit, the metal prongs dig in and pull the pit out effortlessly - no scary knife skills necessary. The pitter is perfectly round with three metal prongs in it. But the best part is the pitter in the middle. Then there's the avocado slicer part at the other end that you can use to cut the avocado's flesh into perfect pieces. OXO's slicer can take care of every step without putting your hands in harm's way.Īt one end, the tool has a plastic blade that's just sharp enough to cut into the avocado's skin, but not sharp enough to cut yours. Just about anyone can slice the interior of an avocado up into neat pieces, but cutting into that tough skin and removing the hard pit with a sharp kitchen knife is difficult and filled with peril. Every other avocado slicer I've seen doesn't do what I actually need it to do: open and pit the avocado. And I've been using it to turn avocados into guacamole for years now. Even though I typically laugh at all the weird kitchen tools that have one very specific function and do nothing else (here's looking at you, strawberry hullers), I bought it. I found OXO's 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer at Bed Bath & Beyond one day about eight years ago. I used to make my boyfriend take the pit out every time because I was convinced the knife was going to slip and cut my hand instead of removing the pit. Without a proper tool, you're stuck using a knife to cut through the skin and take the pit out, which is, frankly, dangerous. The only thing I dislike about avocados is opening and pitting them. You can't exactly tell a ripe avocado "no" - they tend to rebel and turn stringy and brown when you ignore them. If my avocado is ripe, I'm eating tacos that night. ![]() I eat them a couple of times a week, and I plan my meals around their whims. Like any self-respecting millennial, I love avocados. ![]()

Cooking with kite hill sour cream9/18/2023 ![]() ![]() Tofutti has been making dairy-free products since the early 1980s, and its expertise shows across its product offering, which includes several different kinds of cheese (including vegan ricotta), dips (like French onion and roasted garlic), and, of course, its very own Better Than Sour Cream, which comes in regular flavor and guacamole flavor. Here, we’ve gathered some of the best options to add to your basket next time you head to the grocery store. Brands that sell vegan sour creamĪ number of vegan and vegan-friendly brands sell dairy-free alternatives to sour cream. This means you can use it as a dip, dollop it over salads, bake it into desserts, serve it as a side with potatoes or tacos, or add it to soup, coleslaw, or even pasta sauces. Vegan sour cream can be used as a direct replacement for regular sour cream. ![]() (If this is the case, the answer is to enjoy in moderation!) It’s important to note, however, that making sour cream from home is often healthier than buying it from the store, where vegan versions can still be high in saturated fat. Silken tofu, another rich source of protein, is also a popular base for vegan sour cream. Cashews, for example, are also a good source of healthy fats, including monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fat. This is because instead of dairy, they often rely on nuts, which are a source of protein and other essential nutrients, like B vitamins. While traditional sour cream is often high in saturated fat, vegan alternatives tend to be healthier. Most vegan recipes follow a similar formula, mixing together cashews with tangy citrus juice and apple cider vinegar. For example, this Cookie and Kate recipe mixes together cashews, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, and Dijon mustard to achieve a similar result. You can also make a cream that has a similar taste and consistency using only plant-based ingredients. While most sour cream is made with dairy, it isn’t a necessity. It’s often used in recipes to add a creamier texture and an extra tang (like in mashed potato, for example), or served on the side as a dipping sauce. Basically, lactic acid bacteria is added to cream made with cow’s milk until it thickens and the flavor becomes sharper. Sticking to its roots, today’s sour cream is still made with fermentation. Here’s what it is, where to buy it, and the best recipes to serve it with. ![]() But as appetites change, and dairy-free alternatives become more popular for their health, environmental, and ethical benefits, vegan sour cream is also rising in popularity. In fact, according to Statista, in 2020, sour cream was enjoyed by more than 239 million Americans. Several centuries on, sour cream is still eaten all over the world, and the US is no exception. Russian people developed a liking for the delicacy and started making their own version with thickened cow’s milk, and sour cream was born. Back then, they enjoyed kumis, a slightly alcoholic drink made with fermented horse’s milk. Of course, in the 13th and 14th centuries, people weren’t eating sour cream in the way we are today (à la Doritos). Yep, we’re talking about that relatively harmless dip you often enjoy with nachos, potatoes, tacos, and more. The Mongol people also gave us sour cream. But sophisticated, deadly weapons weren’t the only inventions to come out of the largest contiguous land empire. Google photos vr9/18/2023 ![]() This is because there is sophisticated math and camera-lens profiles that are needed to create the desired panorama image which is based on your camera's depth of field (FOV) and the type of lens used. Photoshop cannot produce them as quickly or accurately as stitching software programs can such as Autodesk Stitcher. While programs such as Adobe Photoshop have new features that allow users to stitch images together, they only support "rectilinear" types of stitching. Various software products can be used to create virtual tours. Main article: Comparison of image stitching software Using one-shot panoramic optics one can create quick and easy panoramic videos and images such as the type used on the iPhone. Today, this technique is considered rather "old school," and spherical stitching has become more mainstream for producing these types of tours. Free utility software such as Cubic Converter and others allowed photographers to stitch and convert their panoramas into a "cube" like box to achieve a complete 360 X 360 view. Apple Computer pioneered this with the release of Apple's QuickTime VR in the early 1990s. ![]() This technique was one of the first forms of immersive, floor to ceiling virtual tours. This type of virtual tour required more expensive virtual tour camera equipment including (for example) a Sigma 8mm f/3.5 lens which allowed photographers to set their rotator heads to 90° and capture a complete virtual tour of any scene in just 4 shots (0°, 90°, 180°, 270°). The IPiX 360 camera system enabled photographers to capture a full 360 X 360 floor to ceiling view of any scene with just 4 shots as opposed to the more time-consuming 8, 10, or 12-shot rectilinear produced panoramas described above. The camera was an Olympus or Nikon CoolPix camera and the lenses used were the Nikon FC-E8 or FC-E9 fish-eye lens. The 2-shot fish eye camera system was made popular by IPiX in the mid-1990s and a two-shot rotator head that rotated and locked into 0° and 180° positions only. This method requires the use of a " Fisheye lens" equipped digital SLR camera. A stitched panoramic view is also called "cylindrical"-as the resulting stitched panorama allows panning in a complete 360°, but offers a limited vertical field of about 50° degrees above or below the horizon line. This technique, while extremely time-consuming, has remained popular even through today as the required equipment, rotator heads and software are relatively inexpensive and easy to learn. Using specialized "photo stitching" software, the operator then assembles the "slices" into a single rectangular image, typically 4,500 pixels to 6,000 pixels wide. With a typical point and shoot digital camera, the photographer will snap 8, 10, 12 or 14 slices of a scene. The combination of a precision rotator and a digital camera allows the photographer to take rectangular "slices" of any scene (indoors or outdoors). The photographer may only need to take 6 shots as opposed to 10 shots to capture the same panorama. With a larger detent interval, fewer images are needed to capture a complete panoramic scene. If a given camera lens supports a wider view, one could select a larger detent value (for example, 60° instead of 30°). ![]() The rotator can be adjusted by changing the position of "detent ring or bolt," into another slot, to alter the interval of rotation: 40°, 60°, 90° etc. As the operator manually rotates the camera clockwise, the camera stops or clicks into a detent at regular intervals, such as every 30° of rotation. ![]() This involves the rotation of a digital camera, typically in the portrait (up and down) position and centered directly over the tripod. There are several ways of capturing VR photography. ![]() Capture įurther information: Image stitching and Omnidirectional camera The history of VR photography is human-computer interaction in which a real or imaginary environment is simulated and users interact with and manipulate that world. Normally created by stitching together a number of photographs taken in a multi-row 360-degree rotation or using an omnidirectional camera, the complete virtual reality image can also be a totally computer-generated effect, or a composite of photography and computer generated objects. VR photography is the art of capturing or creating a complete scene as a single image, as viewed when rotating about a single central position. The results is known as VR photograph (or VR photo), 360-degree photo, photo sphere, or spherical photo, as well as interactive panorama or immersive panorama. VR photography (after virtual-reality photography) is the interactive viewing of panoramic photographs, generally encompassing a 360-degree circle or a spherical view. ![]()

Bitcasa vs carbonite vs crash plan9/18/2023 ![]() ![]() Both apps are easy to install, and neither requires an elaborate setup. Backblaze does have a minor advantage: it analyzes the files first and can back up the smallest files first, resulting in a greater number of files being backed up quickly.
